The Garage Audio Story
Garage Audio did not begin with a large showroom, investors or a warehouse full of products. It grew through years of hands-on installation work, weekend jobs, contracting, setbacks, family sacrifice and a commitment to becoming better with every vehicle.
Learning The Craft In Melbourne
The journey began working in a prominent stereo shop in Melbourne, developing practical skills in car audio installation and learning how much the final result depends on correct system design, wiring, mounting and tuning.
Weekend installations advertised through Gumtree became an opportunity to keep improving, meet more customers and build a reputation through hands-on work.
Where The Name Garage Audio Came From
As the business grew, installation contracting expanded across Melbourne. Then the lockdowns changed everything. With traditional workshop demand disappearing, the focus shifted to completing work from home.
The garage became the workshop, and the name Garage Audio was born.
It was not glamorous, but it created the values that still guide the business today: work carefully, use the right tools, look after the vehicle and let the quality of the finished installation speak for itself.
Taking The Risk And Moving To Queensland
Garage Audio was always connected to a bigger family goal: moving to Queensland and building a better future.
The move was not easy. The family waited for borders to reopen, sold a vehicle and then faced another setback when the remaining car suffered a major engine failure during a camping trip.
After replacing the motor and covering the costs of the move, the family arrived in Queensland with very little left—but with the determination to keep building.
Starting Again From Almost Nothing
Local advertisements were posted as soon as the family arrived. Every installation helped rebuild momentum, every customer recommendation created another opportunity and every dollar went back into tools, equipment and improving the business.
The work quickly outgrew the home setup, creating the opportunity to establish a dedicated workshop in Lawnton.
Turning A Small Workshop Into A Real Business
The Lawnton workshop provided a proper space to work, invest in equipment and build strong local relationships.
Over three years, Garage Audio expanded beyond standard stereo installations into premium car audio, DSP tuning, dash cameras, Apple CarPlay, vehicle security, reverse cameras, UHF radio and 4WD technology.
Eventually, the workshop was no longer large enough for the volume and variety of work being completed.

Garage Audio now operates from a dedicated workshop on Morayfield Road, supporting customers across Moreton Bay, Brisbane North and surrounding areas.
The location may have changed, but the original approach has not: treat every vehicle carefully, give honest advice and never accept “good enough” when the job can be done properly.
